The Vision of Telangana’s Green Energy Future
The State Government of Telangana has set a ambitious goal to become a green energy leader in the country.
Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of TGREDCO V. Anitha explained about the activities taken up by the organisation, and those taken by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) for the last one year. Cool roof policy Ms. Anitha stated that Telangana is at the top in the implementation of ECBC in the country and a total of 392.21 million units of energy was saved with the construction of 879 commercial buildings following ECBC norms. Telangana is also the first State in the country to bring Cool Roof Policy 2023-28. A total of 43 industrial units were recognised as the designated customers of the perform, achieve and trade (PAT) programme. Energy equivalent to 0.24 million tonnes of oil was also saved in the first two cycles of PAT. By implementing demand side management, another 40 MW power was saved in Greater Hyderabad.
The initiative was taken by the Telangana government to reduce energy consumption and lower the carbon footprint of the state.
The Telangana Government’s LED Bulb Replacement Initiative
