The Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority ( SDAIA ): Global Dialogue on AI – Led Innovation , Governance , and Impact on Humanity Continues on Day 2 of GAIN Summit 2024.

The summit, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, brought together leading experts, researchers, and policymakers from around the the world. The summit’s focus on AI governance and policymaking was highlighted by a panel discussion on “Building Trust in AI.” This panel featured prominent figures like Dr. David Silver, a renowned AI researcher, and Dr. Fei-Fei Li, a pioneer in computer vision.

They emphasized the need for international collaboration and shared responsibility in shaping the future of AI. The discussion focused on several key areas, including:

* **Ethical considerations:** Panelists highlighted the potential risks and challenges associated with AI, such as bias, discrimination, and job displacement. They stressed the need for robust ethical frameworks and guidelines to mitigate these risks.

GAIN is a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices, and cutting-edge technologies in the field of data and artificial intelligence. **Key Features of GAIN:**

* **Global Collaboration:** GAIN brings together a diverse range of stakeholders from across the globe, including governments, businesses, researchers, and academics. This collaborative environment fosters innovation and knowledge exchange.

Deepfakes: SDAIA launched an official guidelines document to demonstrate how to responsibly and ethically optimize the use of AI tools, particularly deepfakes. The initiative aims to empower stakeholders to harness the positive potential of deepfake technologies while clearly identifying their associated risks. The guidelines are now open for public consultation. Thakai: SDAIA also launched the “Thakai” platform, a first-of-its-kind integrated AI data and content sharing knowledge hub, designed to unite AI experts and enthusiasts around the world. The new platform has been developed in partnership with prestigious academic institutions, think tanks, and global companies, including UC Berkeley, King Saud University, Chatham House, the International Data Corporation (IDC), and PwC.

These qualifications will equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. The MoU also focuses on fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the SDAIA and Pearson’s respective ecosystems. This will be achieved through joint initiatives, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research projects.
